Forsan runners set new records at Big Lake meet

By TROY HYDE Sports Editor

The Forsan cross country team kicked off the new season Sept. 3 at Ozona and more recently competed at Big Lake Sept. 18.

While the team has not finished in the top-five at either meet a few individuals have shined in the top-10.

At Ozona, Cynthia Beccera took eighth overall and then placed sixth last Saturday at Big Lake with a time of 12:51. Her time at Big Lake was also good enough to break Forsan's school record.

Senior Trey Paredez also set a Forsan record with his run of 16:43 at Big Lake. The run placed him eighth overall.

"The whole team is doing a great job," said Forsan head coach Brandye Huehey. "This sport takes a lot of dedication and the athletes are running well. We are all looking forward to district and hopefully regionals."

Forsan will compete at Irion County this Saturday. It is the Buffaloes first-ever trip to Irion.
