I, Bob Fishback (Phone 432-457-2264), purchased this airplane June 6, 1983 in Scottsdale, Arizona. For the past twenty-two years it has been hangared in Big Spring, Texas. A good friend of mine, retired Air Force Lieutenant Colonel Ned Crandall, became my partner approximately ten years ago. Ned taught my daughter Megan to fly in this airplane. It is a very safe and reliable aircraft. We put a remanufactured engine in N9648J in 1996. It has 560 hours on the engine. In July of 2001 the Cherokee 180 received a new paint job, new windshields, and the interior was replaced to match the new paint. It is in excellent condition. Total time on the aircraft is 5190.2 and the annual was completed on November 20, 2005 so she is ready to go.
Radio equipment includes a King KX 170B with Glideslope, Mark12A, Mode C Narco AT 150 transponder (Certified IFR), King KR86 ADF, and a FlyBuddy IIMorrow Loran (VFR).
This was the perfect plane for my family of four. My in-laws lived in Hooker, Oklahoma, which is an eight and a half hour drive. We could load up the Cherokee and be there in two and a half hours. She would always burn ten gallons and hour and cruise at 120 knots. I am a school teacher and have taken over three hundred students for rides in this plane. One of those students is now a Major in the Air Force and flies the C-5B Galaxy. This plane has a great history and is part of the family, but the kids are gone and it is time to move on.
We are asking $45,000 and are firm with this price. I have many pictures and video clips of the Cherokee on this web-site. You should be able to see it from any view.
