Improved Teacher Workstations

Using State Technology Funds each class in the
Forsan ISD school district (K-12) had new teaching tools added. A 27" TV was
hung by each teachers computer workstation. A graphics card was installed in
the teachers computer allowing the teacher to show what is on their monitor to
the classroom through the TV. Under each computer a VCR/DVD player was
installed. The frames to hold this new equipment were built by the Forsan ISD
maintenance staff. These additions will allow Forsan teachers new
flexibilities in teaching. For example, teachers can now teach their lessons
using Microsoft PowerPoint and the class will be able to view it easily. Then
the teacher can take the same PowerPoint and post it on their web page so that
the students and parents can access the same lesson from home through the
internet. For the past six years Forsan teachers have been posting their
weekly lesson plans on the Forsan ISD web page so that students and parents
can check homework assignments at any time. These technology improvements
are making it much easier for parents to be involved in their students
education process.
