The Forsan High School one-act cast
will present a public performance of its contest play "Our
Hearts Were Young and Gay," at 7 p.m. today.
Set in 1923 aboard a cruise ship, the
play revolves around two 19-year-old girls Cornelia Skinner
and Emily Kimbrogh played by Keisha Christen and Rachel
Clinton who are heading to Europe.
"They get into some crazy situations,"
said Director Jim Rhodes. "They meet a number of mad-cap
characters."
Rounding out the main cast are
Skinner's parents, played by Abby Janca and Jonathan
Moore.
"I wanted to produce a comedy this
year," Rhodes said. "I felt we had the cast to do this, and I
like period pieces."
The curtain rises for the 40-minute
play at 7:30 tonight in the Forsan High School
Auditorium.
Supporting cast members are Matt
Posey, Jonathan Gomez, Cory Reyna, Tim Ballard, Crystal McNew,
Ruth Kaelin and Kyle Briggs.
Crew members are Candis Snowden, Casi
Graves, AaRika Thixton and Levi Johnson. Jeremy Higginbotham
serves as the assistant director.
The one-act cast will take the
performance to University Interscholastic League contest
Saturday at Crane High School. Also competing will be Coahoma,
Seagraves, Colorado City, Stanton and Crane high
schools.
