Ch.9-“Types of Construction Projects”
Method: Homework due. Define types of construction
projects. Write a 100 word essay explaining why different construction
processes are needed. R & D-List 10 construction systems. Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if
necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids. GT-Research “cantilever systems”
and write a 100 word report outlining the importance thereof.
Objective: Students will understand the importance of
construction projects .

Wednesday-Assignment: Ch. 9-“Highways and Airports”
Method: Page
204-205-Research highway construction and airport construction and write a 100
word report on how/why they are
designed differently. Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if necessary,
reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids.
R & D-Explain the term “flexible” and tell why it is needed. GT-
Write a report about civil construction and why this is needed in research and
development of new buildings.
Objective: Students
will be able to distinguish between types of construction.

Method: Page 207-Read page211 and in a 150 word
report explain how and why bridge design differs. R & D assignment—Write a 500 word report on “tunnel boring

retake tests if necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids. GT-List
and describe the “Roman Arch”.

will understand why we need old and new designs even in this new millennium .
