Method: Homework due. Define combining. Write a 100
word essay explaining why different combining processes are needed. R &
D-List 10 combining systems. Mod-extra
time allowed, retake tests if necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual
aids. GT-Research “mechanical fastening and write a 100 word report outlining
the importance thereof.
Objective: Students will understand the importance of
combining .

Wednesday-Assignment: Ch. 9-“Hot and Cold Processes”
Method: Page
192-198-Research hot and cold processes and write a 100 word report on how/why they are used in the
production of products. Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if necessary,
reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids.
R & D-Explain the term “fusion combining” and tell why it is needed.
GT- Write a report about computerized welding and why this is needed in
research and development of new products.
Objective: Students
will be able to distinguish between hot and cold processes.

Thursday-Assignment: Ch.9-“Soldering and Soldering tools”.
Method: Page 201-Read page201 and in a 150 word
report explain how soldering works to combine metals. R & D
assignment—Write a 500 word report on “cold tip portable soldering ”. Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if
necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids. GT-List and describe the
“tinning and soldering operation”.

will understand why we need soldering even in this new millennium .
