Monday-Assignment-Columbus  Day-------------Holiday

 

Tuesday-Assignment:  Ch.9-New Products and New Ideas.      

Method:   Homework due. Write a 100 word essay explaining product design. Aerodynamic design of a wing. R & D-List 10 products made in which the microchip is integrated.  Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids. GT-Research CAD and how it works.

Objective:  Students will understand how new products are designed and become produced products.

Wednesday-Assignment:  Ch. 9-Mock-Ups and Prototypes.

Method: Page 198-Research mock-ups and prototypes and write a 100 word report on how/why they are used in the production of products. Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids.  R & D-Explain the term “scale model” and tell why it is needed. GT- Write a report about functional design and why this is needed in research and development of new products.      

Objective: Students will be able to distinguish between mock-ups and prototypes and know their uses.

Individual project work.  Problem Solving.

 

 


Thursday-Assignment:  Ch.9-Analyzing the Design.

Method:  Page 210-Answer the discussion questions. R & D assignment—Write a 500 word report on “analyzing the design”.  Mod-extra time allowed, retake tests if necessary, reduced assignments, mod-test, visual aids. GT-List and describe the seven inputs of analyzing a design.

Objective: Students will understand why we analyze a design.

Friday-Assignment: Written test-Chapter 9.

Method: Individual test evaluation.  Mod-test, extra time allowed, reduced assignments.

Objective: This test is an evaluation of product development and will show the students know the principles.
