Lesson Plans—7th Texas History (October 6, 2008)

 

Monday—We will take an open-book/notes test over Chapter 3:  Native Texans.

 

Tuesday—We will begin working in the computer lab on our Native American research project.  I have attached the information sheet below and we will spend the remainder of this week working on this project.

Information Sheet

                                   

These items need to in this project and in the order that is given:

 

  1. Cover Page
  2. Title Page
  3. Table of Contents
  4. Research Paper (seven paragraphs)
  5. Charts, Pictures, or Drawings

 

 

The seven-paragraph paper needs this information:

 

  1. Introduction
  2. Location (Where your tribe made its home in Texas)
  3. Shelter (Describe their dwellings/villages.)
  4. Food (What did they eat?  What animals did they hunt or crops they grew?)
  5. Weapons and Tools (What did they use to make hunting/farming easier?)
  6. Other Important Information (This is the paragraph that you get to include information that you feel in important or interesting about your tribe.  It could be about their religion, social structure, stories from their past, or anything you find fascinating about your tribe.)
  7. Conclusion

 

You will be graded on each of the items listed above and from the following:  Content, Creativity, and Participation.  At the end of the project, there will be a question and answer session with the class.  You will need to be prepared to answer questions to show your understanding of the material.

 

Project is DUE on October 17 (Friday)
