There were 15 new members to the Forsan High School chapter of the National Honor Society inducted on Jan. 18 at 6 p.m.
These students were chosen to be inducted because of how well they have academically performed in.
NHS officers inducted the new members by reading the values of the NHS and what it stands for and lighting the five candles; the first candle, the central one, is lit to begin the ceremony. The remaining candles represent the values of the NHS, they are Scholarship, Service, Leadership and Character. Inductees raised their right hand and pledged themselves to the organization.
The sponsors of the NHS are Chelsea Wells and Jamie Richardson, there is a committee also involved in decisions made. After the induction ceremony everyone who was present was invited to the reception in the library. There were several different types of refreshments offered, including a few different types of cookies, water bottles and punch.
