Forsan High School held a sendoff for Regional UIL qualifiers, Thursday morning. Students will be competing at West Texas A&M University in seven categories on Friday beginning at 8 a.m.
“We are proud of our students and the amount of work that they have put in to get to this level,” Kit Kraus, UIL Coordinator, said.
Students competing include: Connor Byerly in Computer Apps; Madison Roach in Prose Interpretation; Loyd Kraus in Informative Speaking; Kennedy Johnson and Makayla Garza in LD Debate; Morgan Miller in Ready Writing, Hilary Thompson in News Writing, and Chance Leonardi, Carmen Trinidad, Marc Trinidad and Patty Yabes in Spelling.
During the Regional Meet, the spelling team placed 1st overall, with Forsan students taking the top four spots. The journalism team placed 3rd overall.
Students who place in the top three during the Regional meet this week will advance to the State competition, which will be held in May.
